Quantex disposable pumps can dispense in either direction with equal efficiency simply by changing the motor’s direction of rotation. This can easily be implemented into a dispense program.
Reverse cycling is particularly useful to prevent liquids from congealing or drying on the outlet. A reverse cycle sucks the last drips from a needle or spray nozzle back towards the pump sealing them from air ingress. Yoghurt is pumped through the valve and a reverse cycle sucks the last drips back into the pump preventing any unwanted drying of the liquid on the pump outlet. This can be achieve with high precision ensuring that the valve lips are fully closed but no air has been sucked back past the valve.
Reverse cycling is also deployed for spray applications using the Quantex disposable pump. The reverse cycle at the end of dispense shuts off the spray cleanly eliminating any tail-off in pressure or drips at the end of dispense.
